Audio is any form of sound recorded, transmitted or reproduced. The audio equipments are the machines or rather electronic devises which can retrieve and play the audio from any storage devises like CD or DVR ROMs or a USB drives. To many, the most known audio equipment is the Gramophone which contains no any electronic part.

With the rapid development of the technology, the size and the quality of the audio equipments has improved to such a gadget that it is smaller than the size of a shirt button and still produces high quality noise filtered music to the user. However, when it comes to high power outdoor audio equipments, the equipments have to be larger.

Sri Lanka does not produce audio items. However, there are some firms who do assembling these equipments from the imported parts. Currently, China is the main electronic item supplier to Sri Lanka.
